One to two drops of essential oil is all that is necessary on animals as they respond much more quickly to the essential oils than do humans. Vegetable oil can be added to extend essential oils over larger areas and to heavily dilute the essential oil for use on smaller animals, especially cats.

See the Common and Botanical Name Index for the botanical name of each essential oil listed below.

Bleeding: Geranium, helichrysum.

Bones (Pain): Birch/wintergreen, lemongrass, spruce.

Calm: Lavender, Roman chamomile (for horses, add to feed). Dilute well for cats.

Cancer (Skin): Frankincense, cumin.

Cats: According to Valerie Worwood, you can treat a cat like you would a child. Dilute oils heavily with vegetable oil. Avoid melaleuca, as it has been known to cause death in cats.

Colds and Coughs: Eucalyptus, melaleuca (not for cats). Apply on fur or stomach.

This fun diffuser is a great way to subtly spread the aroma of your
favorite autumn oil blend throughout a room!

Materials Needed:
2 oz. Dropper Bottle: Used to hold the oil or blend. You may also use a 1 oz. Dropper Bottle as well.

Candle Wicking: This project used unwaxed cotton candle wicking without a central wire. Alternately, a wick for an oil lamp, or fiberglass water wicking material could be used. These items can often be found at craft or floral supply stores.

Essential Oils: You will need about 15-30 ml of your favorite fall essential oil or blend.

Jojoba Oil (optional): Used to dilute the oil or blend if it is too strong.

Instructions:
Remove the dropper cap from the glass bottle.
Add 15-30 ml of your desired essential oil to fill the glass bottle about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way full.
Cut the wicking material in lengths that are the same as the height of the bottle plus 1″.
Carefully remove the glass pipette from the bottom of the dropper cap.
Cut the top of the rubber bulb off a little ways above the plastic cap.
Push the wick (or wicks) through the hole in the cap until they protrude about 1″ above the top of the cap. If you are using smaller wicks, use several wicks together (I used 5 smaller wicks in the diffuser pictured above).
Starting at the top, and working your way down, unravel the top 1/2″ – 3/4″ of the wick, spreading the strands apart from each other. The easiest way I found was to push the end of a paper clip into the wick about 1/16″ from the top, then to pull it upwards to undo the strands above that point, then to move down another 1/16″ and repeat the process until the desired amount is unravelled. This step allows more surface area of the wick to be exposed to the air, allowing the oils to diffuse into the air more efficiently.
Place the bottom part of the wick(s) into the bottle with the oil, and screw the dropper cap with the wicks back into place on the top of the bottle.
Place the diffuser in a place where it won’t get knocked over easily, and there is ample air flow. Allow 15-20 minutes for the oils to soak to the top of the wick, and then enjoy your chosen aroma as it diffuses through the room!

Extra Ideas:

To make the autumn leaf arrangement shown above, use this pattern to trace the leaves onto thin sheet metal (craft stores or a home improvement or hardware store are great sources for this). Carefully cut the leaves out of the sheet metal using metal sheers (tin snips). Paint the leaves as desired (I used a copper and gold metalic finish for the leaves pictured above). Paint a 1″x 4″ x 12″ board your desired color. When everything has dried, bend the bottom 3/4″ of the stem on each leaf 90 degrees to the back of the leaf. Use a screw or a hot glue gun to attach the leaf to the board in your desired location. Cut a 3/4″ strip of sheet metal that is long enough to go around the bottle you used for the diffuser. Wrap the thin strip around the bottle to form a loop, and then fasten the looped metal to the board in your desired location using a hot glue gun. Paint the loop as desired. Place your diffuser in this loop to help keep it in place.

To give these diffusers as gifts, you may want to place the oil in a separate bottle that the recipient can use to fill the diffuser bottle as desired.
See more fun gift ideas!

My husband (Doug’s) mother had cancer of the lymph nodes and its worth a
try using what she did if you know someone with cancer. The doctors gave
her two months to live (they told her this to her face!!!) Doug did some
major research and put her on an ANTI-CANCER OILS Mix

FRANKINCENSE, PALO SANTO and ORANGE
(Young Living PURE ESSENTIAL OILS ) in equal Proportions in a 15 ml
essential oil bottle

She applied the oil blend to sole of feet and massaged
the blend in as well as topically to the appropriate part of her body relating
to the cancer — 2 times daily . He used “0-size” capsules with the oil blend
and take one capsule THREE times a day internally.

There were three other things he had her on. In six months the medical
group ex-rayed her and found her cancer was getting smaller.

They did not want to know what she was doing.

They gave her radiation (much to my husband’s non-approval) and she
was wiped out from the radiation. With the radiation she was in bed 22
hours a day and had to have help to manage her apartment and get her
meals.

In one year, they tested her again (why did they wait 6 months to test her? I
don’t know) They found the cancer had disappeared although they could
see bits of it on the screen. Still they didn’t want to hear what she had been
taking.

Today over a year later, at 85, she is feeling very well and takes care of her
self and her husband (with alzheimer’s ) and drives 2 or 3 times a week to shop.
She gets very tired if she overdoes it. But then doesnt that happen to many of us.

I was going through the Essential Oils Desk Reference book updating my web
site and was thrilled to discover how many oils we have that are effective
against viruses like Thieves, Myrrh, Mountain Savory, Melissa, Melaleuca
Ericifolia, Laurus Nobilis, Hyssop, Exodus II, Oregano (most powerful ~ In
2001, Georgetown University tested therapeutic grade Oregano against all
known viral bacteria and found nothing to withstand the oregano), Inner
Defense soft gels.

Herpes Simplex Type II

Antiviral essential oils have generally been very effective in treating
herpes lesions and reducing their onset. Oils such as tea tree, Melissa and
rosemary have been successfully used for this purpose by Daniel Penoel, MD
in his clinical practice. A study at the University of Buenos Aires found
that sandalwood essential oil inhibited the replication of Herpes Simplex
viruses 1 and 2. Those with herpes should avoid diets high in the amino
acid L-arginine, substituting instead L-lysine. Lysine retards the growth
of the virus. Foods such as amaranth and plain yogurt are good sources of
lysine.

First Recommendations: Ravansara, manuka, tea tree, Melissa, L-lysine
supplement

Other Single Oils: Sandalwood, blue cypress, cumin, rosemary

Other blends: Melrose, Thieves, Exodus II

Herpes blend #1 (topical):

- 4 drops manuka

- 2 drops tea tree

- 1 drop ravansara

Herpes blend #2 (vaginal):

- 2 drops sage

- 4 drops manuka

- 3 drops ravensara

- 1 drop lavender

Dietary Supplementation: ImmuPro, Immune Tune, Sulfurzyme, Super C,
ICP/Comfortone/EssentialZyme

~~~~~~~~~
Ningxia Red will support the immune system and put oxygen into the cells
also; where cells are dis-eased, oxygen is lacking. As with all issues, its
important to keep the body in an alkaline state and eat nutrition which
supports life.
Change your consciousness, change your life!
I have had some real issues with insomnia.
I have discovered a very simple protocol that
works for me and that is nutmeg around the
navel and ledum over the liver. If I do wake up,
I have no trouble going right back to sleep.
Sometimes I rub the ledum arond the navel
and over the spleen as well and that gives
me a really deep sleep.
Best wishes,
It is about 3 years now since my husband had his last chemo treatment
due to colon cancer.    Neuropathy in both his legs, hands and feet were
the by-product of the chemo.   My husband was told at that time that
he has a 50% chance of getting rid of this chemo neuropathy, however,
had it occurred due to radiation treatment, the neuropathy would not go away.
For the last 3 nights I have been applying YLEO/Peppermint/NEAT to the
bottoms of both his feet and inbetween all toes followed by a glass of water.
This evening my husband said to me that his feet and legs feel 100% better
since the application of this oil 3 days ago.  Previously when he would walk
he felt like he was perpetually walking on hard broken cookies, which was
very painful.
As of today, he feels he is walking on soft broken cookies and soft crumbs.
We will continue to use the Peppermint Oil and shoot for a 100% turn around.
It is my hope that this experience may be helpful to others struggling with neuropathy.
Take care and be well.
Hello Candy,
My mom used cypress, lemongrass, peppermint and some other oils for same
condition and she got complete relief. She also used a lot of other diabetic
I found it on tape #56 Clinical Case Studies with Essential Oils. It’s Dr.
David Hill – the YLRC administrator just after he started his position in
summer of 2003. I’ll forward my notes from the convention too.
Subject: Neuropathy – 2003 convention notes
This is from my Convention 2003 notes:
Dr. David Hall is the new Clinic administrator. He is a chiropractic
physician.
His 1st case dealt with non-diabetic neuropathy = Bonnie Walker from
Florida. His mother lost her legs due to neuropathy and the typical medical
protocal was “medicate until you amputate”. Bonnie Walker was the worst
case he’d ever seen. She had no feeling in her feet for 10 years prior. He
looked up what to do in the Essential Oils Desk Reference and chose 5 oils
to work with. After the 1st day she screamed “I feel my feet”. She began
to get sensations after only 2 treatments.
At the end of 1 week she had full restoration of color to her feet. He
massaged her feet to get the blood flow working and she felt it on the soles
of her feet.
——————————————————————————–
Two very dear friends, Janine and Ellen, just sent me this wonderful report!
Thought it might encourage others. They begun this journey in 2006 and are
coming to Convention.
Nancy,
We thought it might be late to call you, but wanted to share this wonderful
experience with you. Janine and I just did a Raindrop for a friend of ours
who suffers from some nasty after-effects of chemo (which she finished about
two years ago), including numbness and tingling of her feet and sometimes a
feeling like there is sand in her socks. Because of that, I decided we
should add Juniper to her Raindrop, for her feet and for her back. When we
were doing the Juniper on her feet, she asked if we had changed the amount
of pressure we were using, because it felt very different to her. By the
time she was done with her treatment, she was amazed and kept saying it’s
the first time she has felt like she had two “real” feet in two years! She
also tried some NingXia when she was here the other night, and said she was
up peeing all night long and knows it was her body getting rid of a lot of
old stored-up junk that has been keeping her all plumped up! I know you
will understand when I tell you how good this makes me feel — I have known
this woman for over 30 years and she is one of my dearest friends! My heart
is very full …
Love
Ellen
I am a redhead & burn just thinking about the sun.
Last summer I had a contract to do that kept me out
in the sun all summer & it was HOT!!!
The first time my arms & face burnt I started putting
lavender oil on it. Helped a lot. Then a friend told me to
use coconut oil. I started using coconut oil & lavender
oil mixed together & applying that to my skin. I didn’t
burn for the rest of the summer & I actually got a slight
tan for the first time in my life. I usually burn, peel, burn,
peel , etc.
http://www.neilmed.com/can/index.php
I found them at a local pharmacy but as I live in Canada I don’t know if your
down there will have it. However, I found a link online and am including it in the
post. I like it better than a neti pot because it flushes with a gentle pressure
and doesn’t get water all over me.
I was amazed at the gunk. Completely painless and easy…even the 9 yr
old didn’t complain. The kit comes with packets of buffered saline solution
to disolve in the water.
I…
VERY CAREFULLY
…added   only 1 DROP of Thieves  Essential Oil
Blend to the solution.
I found out the hard way that you need to shake it up.
But this really works.
Good luck with your sinus problem.
The most effective sunscreen I have ever found is
ORGANIC AVOCADO OIL + LAVENDER essential oil.
I have always had skin that burned very quickly, and I lived
at the beach in South Florida and now in the tropics in Asia.
I put a little avocado oil into my palm, add a few drops of
lavender essential oil, mix with my dominant hand, and apply.
If I need more, I repeat the process until my body is covered.
Avocado oil also is very soothing and hydrating for the skin.
Many wishes for optimal health,
I  have had really bad and recurring pain from an injury to my calcaneus…
I also have plantar fasciitis. I use these oils in this order and massage
them in really well. Even when it flares up badly I seldom have to use it
more than a couple of times. Then I forget to do it anymore because it
no longer hurts.   I just massage  with Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Marjoram,
Cypress, and Wintergreen.
Before I had cypress and wintergreen I used cedar oil, I think,or evergreen
essence (or any other tree oil) and peppermint.
It works really well for me.
I can’t remember where I read it. Probably here but I read that Joy on the liver helped with anger issues. I knew that anger and hate were stored in the liver and this made so much sense.
One day I was so angry about a bunch of stuff that kept on building up. I mean I was REALLY getting angry. I remembered the Joy oil and rubbed it on my liver. In a matter of 10-15 seconds I felt much, much better. The change was so fast and dramatic it was shocking.
I’ve been rubbing Joy on my heart and wearing it as cologne for years and have always loved it but never experienced relief like I did when I rubbed it on my liver.
WOW!
The aromatherapy history always becomes appealing topic to be discussed. Fundamentally, essential oils that have been extracted from variety of plants is applied in aromatherapy. These extract oils consists of essences that produce an valuable therapeutic effect. The term of aromatherapy has recently been formed in the twentieth century though the aromatherapy history goes way back in time.
Chinese Were the First to Practice Aromatherapy
Chinese was the first people began applying herbs of aromatherapy according to ancient aromatherapy history. The ability of essential oils to cure the body is the reason why Chinese become interested in the aromatic plants. In fact, the Chinese also believed that this could be accomplished by burning incense which in turn would produce a more harmonious atmosphere.
Additionally, it would also generate a relaxation in the body. Later, the aromatherapy history shows that the Egyptians pioneered the discovery of techniques that allowed for the distillation of essential oils. Now this could be extracted although the methods of distillation being applied were still rather simple.
Used for Cosmetic and Medicinal Purposes
In actual fact, some of the ancient Egyptian tombs which have been opened in modern times even have given off faded scents of herbs and exposed faint traces of herbs. It shows that the Egyptians certainly were among the first to apply aromatherapy. AlthoughActually, the Egyptians mixed essential oils with infused oils and used such combinations for cosmetics as well as for medicinal purposes. Furthermore, the history of aromatherapy as known to the Egyptians dates back as many as five thousand years back and even the term perfume can be known to the Egyptians.
Even the Greeks were not unaffected by aromatherapy, the aromatherapy history also records them as being users of essential oils. It was applied for therapeutic purposes preserving foods, and even as a part of their religion activity as well as was applied for cooking.
Actually, Greeks applied the ideas derived from aromatherapy in designing as well as laying out their towns. This was evident from the fact that they left open spaces make surethat the air remained free from all manner of germs.
Actually, especially around the period 500 B.C, the Greeks practice much about aromatherapy from the Egyptians. It happened when they set up medical schools on what was a significant period in the aromatherapy history.
Moreover, the history of aromatherapy traced how distillation methods came to be advanced by Persians and more principally the Persian physician called Avicenna. Later, aromatic herbs came to be used during the infamous Bubonic Plague to sterilize the polluted air.
Actually, the aromatherapy history took another important turn. Recently, aromatherapy began to be linked to the health advantages of using essential oils and this relation hasn’t been disproved even in our modern times.
In modern era, aromatherapy is generally being applied in the health and the beauty industry. It differs from the aromatherapy history in the prehistoric times.
There are many aromatherapy benefits that you can get. Just find the advantages that you want by knowing the aromatherapy history. Find more the helpful side of aromatherapy and get a healthy life!
An increasing number of people prefer to use natural and organic products to drugs today. Quite obviously, essential oils are high in demand as they can offer a holistic solution. This is why these oils can be used to combat against a wide variety of health problems, both physical and psychological. In this article, we will focus on finding out the benefits of using essential oil for restless legs.
Restless leg syndrome can be characterized by a repulsive and disturbing itching sensation occurring continuously in the leg during nighttime. In addition, there is a persistent urge to keep your legs moving all the time. The condition becomes worse in the nighttime and only moving your legs can offer some relief. Restless leg syndrome is mostly prevalent among people over 65, or it may occur during pregnancy as well.
Try These Essential Oils for Restless Legs
Roman Chamomile can be mixed with almond oil to massage the legs thoroughly. Remember to use only few drops of Roman Chamomile essential oil for preparing this massage oil. When you use this essential oil for your restless legs problem, it will offer you a topical solution addressing both physical and psychological needs in relation to this complication.
Apart from Roman Chamomile essential oil, you may also use grape seed essential oil for your restless legs syndrome. Blessed with therapeutic strength, the application of this oil can offer you a soothing effect all over. Due to its excellent botanical properties, grape seed essential oil is easily absorbed through the skin and gives the desired result. However, depending on the skin condition, the absorption may take some time, so it is recommended not to bathe just following the massage.
Pure Herbal Energy
Essential oils, at the surface level, can offer potent and pure herbal energy. Since these oils have immune system stimulant properties, they are excellent for daily use. At the emotional level, these oils can induce positive feelings and influence fundamental drives and hormones. At the cellular level, essential oils can effectively offer tissue stimulation and barrier regulation effect. Essential oils like geranium and lavender can also be used for stimulating tissues.
This is just a brief overview about the possible benefits of using essential oil for restless legs syndrome. Most importantly, essential oils do not offer any negative or adverse reaction due to their natural purity. Since we all are children of Mother Nature, let allow her to cure us from this syndrome. However, you must consult your doctor if you suffer from any other conditions so that he or she can guide you to the best solution.
Have a natural lifestyle! With all of the air pollution, chemicals in food, air pollution, and the stress of daily living, using aromatherapy can help you reclaim peace and to regain your balance.
Aromatherapy is used in perfumes, bath scents, massage oils, and even ointments for healing wounds. Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile essential oils derived from holistic plants. For many thousands of years, this process of natural health has been used for a variety of purposes, including improving general well-being.
That being said, there are a variety of aromatherapy product forms that you can take advantage of to better experience the benefits of aromatherapy. Here are just a few:
Aromatherapy candles
Light a candle and let the fragrance penetrate your room. Depending on the essential oil, your experience will vary. Make sure to research the individual oil and its properties.
Pure Essential Oils
Sniffing an oil, diffusing it into a mist or putting drops on your skin or in your bath water can bring about peace of mind and tranquility.
Aromatherapy Lotions
Just rub a lotion on your arms, legs and other areas of your body can help soothe your skin and your psyche.
Aromatherapy Bodywash
Don’t like using harsh soaps? Use a bodywash as part of your daily bathing experience and you will notice a difference. Of course, when you buy products made with an organic aromatherapy oil online, you need to make sure it is grown organically. A site like Pure Essential Oils.com provides a lot of information and organic products.
You can enhance your practice of skin aromatherapy by using essential oils.  Use aromatherapy blends of essential oils. Whether you apply them directly to your skin, use a lotion, add to bath water or apply body wash, there are many available that are useful.
In the area of holistic skin treatment, many women use aromatherapy today. The practice of aromatherapy goes back to ancient times when it was considered a therapeutic natural practice. Like then, today’s use of essential oils derived from plants renews, balances, and rejuvenates the body.
Aromatherapy blends are now widely available even through the Internet. Companies dedicated to aromatherapy production and distribution offer them for sale through their websites. Each company is somewhat different and has specific offerings to promote well-being, as well as aromatherapy carrier oils.
Use aromatherapy relaxation to pamper yourself, and let your body achieve a deeper level of peace and well being. Aromatherapy energizes and relaxes your body. How does it work, you may ask. Let me explain. During an aromatherapy session, your body is exposed to the of absorption of essential oils. There are different theories about how this works. Essential oils have a relatively simple, small as well as lipid-soluble molecular structure that allows them to pass easily through the skin. Once the diluted essential oils are applied directly to the skin, they are completely absorbed and penetrate deeply into the tissues, interstitial fluid and bloodstream.
After the session, the cells in your body are fed by with complex nutrients of purity from essential oils, making them stronger. Remember, authentic essential oils are not artificial like substances that are synthesized in a laboratory and deprived of all its components. Natural substances make them powerful and the effect is to soothe a person’s emotional state.
Relaxing is a very important to staying healthy. Essential oils are natural rejuvenating agents which help your body eliminate waste matter, including dead cells as well as promote the regeneration of new and healthy cells. So relax today!
